Abstract: Cross-linked chitosan-tripolyphosphate films have been prepared using solvent evaporation method. The purpose of this study was to compare the characteristic of cross-linked chitosan-tripolyphosphate films which were prepared at drying temperature of 50oC and 60oC. Both of film was characterized, that were phisical properties, tensil strenght, elongation at break, morphology, water vapour transmition rate (WVTR), and swelling degree. The result showed that the films which were prepared at drying temperature of 50oC and 60oC respectively has yellowish and yellow colour, thickness 130,79,4 μm and 118,410,7 μm, tensil strenght 10,732,42 N/mm2 dan 5,901,29 N/mm2, elongation at break 16026,46% and 20022,36%, WVTR 821,337,5 g/m2 and 778,721,4 g/m2, and maximum swelling degree 232,56% and 221,14%. From these results, it can be concluded that the drying temperature of 50°C and 60°C produces films with significantly different characteristics (p <0.025) and a drying temperature of 50°C is better than the temperature of 60oC.
