Abstract: Central obesity is one of risk factor of hypertension. The aim of this study is to identify the difference of hypertension prevalence between people with central and non central obesity of age group of 35-64 years old in Cibubur village. The research method was analytical comparative with cross sectional design. The sampling technique was purposive sampling with 78 samples used for each condition. Waist circumference was grouped based on WHO criteria, and blood pressure was based on JNC VII. Chi-Square was used as the analytical statistic. The study result showed that there is a significant difference (p = 0.000) between the prevalence of hypertension in central and non central obesity. The prevalence of hypertension was about 82% in central obesity and 42% in non central obesity. Central obesity has increased the risk of hypertension, compared to non central obesity.
