Abstract: Abstract: Fasting in the Ramadhan month is an obligation for Muslims. In addition to getting the approval from Allah, a question turns up whether there is wisdom that comes from the fasting in relation to ways of keeping health one of which is to avoid obesity. Some components of obesity control are carbohydrate, fat and protein. Purpose: To analyze the meaning of fasting related to the metabolism of obesity control macromolecule. Methods: Research respondents are in good health and are fasting in the Ramadhan month. The respondents are given the IMT measurement, levels of glucose, protein and triasilgliserol in the first and the 25th fasting days. Result: Based on the IMT measurement the body weight averagely decreases due to dehydration during the fasting days. However, the result of IMT measurement shows that the levels of glucose, protein and triasilgliserol averagely increases during the fasting days, entirely different (p<1) in the degree of 0.95 and 0,99. Conclusion: Respondents interpret that fasting is to merely fulfill the obligation, yet they haven’t followed the teachings of Rasulullah in healthy eating way. Instead, there is euphoria of excessive food consumption during the fasting break and the Ramadhan evenings.
