|Abstract:||During the period of 1970s and 1980s issu on multi-racial and multi-religious society in Malaysia has not only been a warm and long-lasting dispute among both foreign and domestic Malaysianists but also an imperative tool used by any political groups gaining their influence in society In theoretical level the Malaysianists have been striving to scrutinize some fundamental questions, i.e. Islam-ethnicity and Malaysian nationalism interplay and how the problem of communalism should be properly seen in religious, social, economic and political context. It is stated that any social and political group is deeply rooted from (and influenced by) ethnical and cultural streams. Since communalism is a very core of Malaysians worldview the social and political group apparently conflict and coalesce each other based on ethnical or communal motives. The stronger political influence and power they get the wider opportunity of a certain ethnical group preserving the crown. Consequently an ethnic-based government would be existed and every step of governments policy will be totally based on the spirit of communalism.|
