Abstract: This study is a class action research conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Research subjects were students in grade XI IPA 1 MAN Cipondoh Tangerang academic year 2011/2012 by the number of students as many as 27 people consisting of 7 male students and 20 female students. This study aims to improve student learning outcomes on the concept of reaction rate. Instruments used in this study consisted of learning the test results, observation sheets, and reports the results of the assessment form practicum. The results showed that application of an experimental method based of daily materials can improve student learning outcomes on the concept of chemical reaction rate. The average value of post-test increased from 47.82 with KKM 3.70% in cycle I to 73.37 with KKM 88.89% on the cycle II. Results of the assessment form practicum reports also increased from an average value of the cycle I 72.08 with exhaustiveness 59.26% increased to 84.07 in cycle II with exhaustiveness 85.18%. Based on the research results can be concluded that the application of experimental methods based daily material can enhance student learning outcomes, especially on the concept of chemical reaction rate.
